When We Are Better

February 7, 2018 By: Staceycomment

Click. Nothing.

Click. Nothing.

Repeat this a million times and you may be familiar with what it is like to keep checking the email or phone when you are waiting to hear news…

News that you have been accepted, got the job, passed the test, or whatever else that you have taken the courage to put out there.

To know that you are better than what you thought.

So we wait and try to keep ourselves busy from second guesses to feeling confident.

Click. Nothing.

Click. Nothing.

Friends will tell you that no one is better. Your family knows you are better.

And you wait while going over every single thing that happened.

The ups and downs in life are fluent in this manner. From the start of childhood to adulthood, we are a society that focuses on bettering ourselves and achieving our dreams.

I am a firm believer that most things happen for a reason. Other things, I just can’t imagine why they turn out the way they do. Having faith is an ongoing struggle for me.

Through the years, I have learned that sometimes when we are caught up on one moment, we miss that big picture of more to come. This is something I am trying to focus more on as I figure out new dreams now that I am in my 40’s. It’s almost like redefining my life. How much do I love what I do? What kind of mother am I? Wife? Friend?

People and events bring change and growth. Circumstances bring you to new awareness and reflections.  Some can bring sadness where others joy. We push ourselves to carry on and hold our heads up high.

The belief in oneself is what we should always strive for.

Welcome to 40 Wishes!

I am so happy you are visiting my blog! Please sign up to receive the latest postings. It would be great if it's not just my family following along (yes... family you are important, but you are kind of obligated). Lots of fun thoughts and adventures will be going on! Best part is, you don't have to be 40 to enjoy it.

Driving home last night, I was mesmerized by the holiday lights all around. Was it possible that it seemed like there were more than usual? Perhaps people had put up more to make this year brighter. In the background, my Christmas music played on the radio and I took the very long way home. It’s […]
