Much like I sit now facing a blank screen, that is what it was like about 16 years ago when it came time to write my thesis for my Masters degree.
The ideas are always there but the words do not always come as easy. Many times these days I have to write them down or I forget completely.
Anytime I had a paper due throughout my school years, I had to do at the last minute. There was something about that pressure that brought out my best thoughts and earned the higher grades.
Some things never change.
I welcome all kinds of distractions to avoid the task at hand. Back then it was my new boyfriend (now husband!) who arrived with pastries to give me a bit of a break.
Now my distractions are kids running around me and a cheesecake that is sitting in the fridge calling my name. Yesterday, I was not feeling well so it was short and quick. I even said that if I didn’t feel better, you would probably be reading my grocery list today.
Thankfully, I will at least spare you that but I will tell you that for some reason, turkey seems to be on sale everywhere.
A daily blogging challenge is not easy but I do enjoy the things I am writing overall. I am so appreciative of all of you who continue to read my posts and comment with your own thoughts.
Much like all those years ago, the blank page is somehow filled. All I have left to do is click save and publish.
Nothing like procrastination.
