Today, we will go shopping because there is a list that must be checked off. There are presents to buy for the husband and presents to buy the kids not to mention all the other people. It is so easy to get caught up in the holiday spirit and buy ALL the things.
The music will play and you will find yourself singing along as you picture people opening up different gifts.
Then as it always does, your attention will wander.
It will start with the sweater you have been looking for in your color and will move to those earrings that will just compliment every outfit you have. Eventually you will find the perfect boots. Why you were even in a shoe store shopping for others is beyond me.
The next thing you know, you will have an entire outfit which will remind you that you also need new clothes for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. So the shopping gets more intense.
As much as you are playing it off right now by saying you are looking for your friend, your husband is giving you the side eye because he is onto you. He knows that size is not your friend’s but yours.
The credit card is getting more of a work out in a day then you did the entire year.
The hours are starting to go fast and you realize the kids are close to melting down so you will go into full panic mode. Throw in a scarf, another pair of earrings, a sweater in not one color but two different ones and then you finally get a good look at all the bags your husband is holding.
Do NOT make eye contact.
Congratulations. You have done it again. You were supposed to be shopping for others but you just couldn’t help yourself. Maybe read this again next year before you shop.
In the meantime, there is always prime shipping to save the day.
Thanks for following my posts here at 40 Wishes where I am participating in a daily blogging challenge for the month of November. 5 MORE DAYS!!! I can do this…
