This was the staycation where hubby worked and the kids went to day care for half days. It was perfect for much needed “me” time and for getting things done (finally!), around the house.
Here’s what really happened.
I saved Target. That’s right. It was in an economic crisis and I had to help by purchasing everything or close to it. At least this is the story I gave hubby. Not buying it? Neither is he.
Cooking the Pinterest Way. I had every intention of trying out new recipes. I pinned at least 100 to my cooking board during the past few months in preparation for the nights where I had no other obligations. My family got the same crap I always serve.
Crafting the Pinterest Way. I bought the supplies. Maybe next vacation? I have high hopes.
The New Look. I didn’t wash my hair for 4 days. I really think I could have gone for a fifth if I had a hat in the house. My friends kept telling me how awesome it looked which probably doesn’t say much for how it usually does. On the plus side, I can continue this lazy streak when I am back at work.
The Appointment Fail. I had one obligation and that was to take the cat into the vet. I made the appointment the night before for the next afternoon. Only I forgot it. I guess this was a good sign I was relaxed on my vacation. Note to self: The appointment still needs to be made.
Catch up on Reading. This was a good time for me to read books on how to be a better parent to my crazy children. Only I read romance novels and psychological thrillers instead. Kids will be kids, right?
Netflix Fix. I binge watched at night and this led to me perfecting the walking zombie look during the next day.
Get in Shape. Yes!! Work outs and eating healthy!!!! I also discovered unwrapped mini Snickers bites which ultimately led to the downfall in this area. They are that powerful. I didn’t stand a chance.
I did have a “to do” list. I made one so I could get everything done before vacation ended. Only I lost it and somehow forgot there was laundry, dishes, cleaning, other chores to be done. Oops.
Ohhhh life. Here we go…back to normal.
